We still, in this 21st century, hesitate to accept the fact that women are empowered and capable in all respects. In spite of their skills, they are not able to reach their full potential due to lack of necessary resources and openings . As a result they do not have sufficient opportunities to express their talent.
Khushi Trust has initiated a project called "Sahyogini (collaborative sisterhood) - a step towards self-confidence" to empower them to make them financially independent. This project provides free training and skill development as beauticians to needy women so they can stand on their own feet. Along with skill training, they are encouraged to develop their own personalities, know themselves and recognise their own worth. They are also made aware of their rights. To make them financially independent is the primary aim of this project.
Twenty-seven women have taken advantage of the skill training so far and most of them have now started earning by setting up parlours in their homes.
The course duration is one to one and half months and covers eyebrow threading, waxing , facial, manicure, pedicure, haircut, hair colour, permanent highlights, hair style, head massage, hair ironing, hair spa, makeup / night makeup, saree draping.
